Manchester Design Symposium

Today, Naomi and Finch went to Manchester Design Symposium for an afternoon of talks from different designers. It was at the Town Hall which is just a magnificent building.

There were talks from Morag Myerscough, Its Nice That, Fontsmith, Adrian Shaughnessy and others, with the GF Smith Paper exhibition showing in another room. The talks were very inspirational and interesting, every talk was different, even if it wasn't a topic I have an interest in, the talks were very engaging.

Plan for the day:

Creative Milkround Day

Today I visited the Creative Milkround, I visited talks by Hallmark, Numiko and Saatchi & Saatchi. They were all really interesting, and the Numiko set some context for my surgery, which I then realised, this was the wrong kind of digital, they are mainly web...

However I did get some really useful feedback, one piece of advice, I will follow very closely, 'Generate some noise - use twitter, get your work on blogs...'
He also said I could send him work and he would give me feedback, which is kind of him. Must follow up.

Note To Self

Naomi, Hazel, Finch and I went over to Manchester for the Note To Self talk at the Cornerhouse. The evening began with some good food and wine at Pizza Express followed by some interesting talks by a variety of people from the Creative Industries, Bruno Maag delivered a talk I will never forget, what an interesting and inspiring man. Also giving talks were Retrofuzz who had some very high profile web clients such as Lady Gaga and Oasis. Trevor Johnson gave a great talk also - the theme for the evening was passion.

Naomi and I engrossed in the talk:

All prepared I took my business cards with me - and someone from Creative Lynx took one, although he was a little bit drunk!
