Alton Towers Job Application

Today, I applied for a job at Alton Towers, I don't think its likely to head anywhere, but who knows..

There are a few factors that concern me about the role:

- When the job starts?
- Is accommodation included, if not travel costs?
- How to get there for potential interview?
- Chances of promotion and pay rise?

But, on the other hand:


- A fantastic company to work for with benefits.
- Exciting briefs for the exciting attractions.
- Chance to work on branding.
- Possible opportunity for TV work.
- Love their work already!!
- Working for a company where budget won't be too much of an issue.
- I LOVE ALTON TOWERS.

I can't leave my business card alone! This is it now, I will print some with James this afternoon and thats it. I will leave it be... until next time. This did need rectifying though. The first ideas were experimenting with a portrait format:

I then tried to make the back of the card more friendly by adding 'Say hello!' - I need a friendlier font.

This is much more friendlier, the font is more personal and informal - and I have used a grey from the front rather than a black which was quite harsh.

Tried and tested - reverting back to the landscape format:

I think the speech bubble in the previous version looks more like it's coming from 'me'.

Oops! I haven't said what I do, I could be a dog walker for all this business card says! I am not a bad communicator really, just nervous about my own business card. This makes me a real adult now!

Let the chaos begin! I am not very good with web - but I will not admit defeat. By the end of this FMP module I intend to have it up to date.

Attempting To Brand Myself

My painful third attempt at branding myself - how hard?! I know exactly what I want to say about myself but at the same time I am not happy with anything I produce. For the sake of Portfolio Surgery week I have settled with this idea:

This shade of blue I feel is a positive, happy blue - and makes me think of blue skies, it is also eye catching to stand out to anyone who may be interested in picking it up. I have use my initials in lower case as it looks more like a name rather than GB which seems more like the abbreviation for Great Britain. The reason for the repetition of these gb's is to symbolise my interest in motion graphics, particularly simple ones as I have still a lot to learn.

Wow... I must be semi-pleased with this business card design as I have never made it to designing the back! I think it's bright, cheerful and minimal.
